- CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR (X8)
Overall Mission of the Role:
The role of the Control Room Operator is to work in a team environment ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of the plant in order to achieve production targets, product quality, maximize operational efficiency, and maintain environmental compliance, all in an atmosphere of continuous improvement and on-going change
Main Responsibilities:
- Control all major process lines within the cement manufacturing operation including equipment commissioning, starts- ups, shutdowns, and emergency condition management as per established SOP’s in order to meet production requirements.
- Monitor continuously, all plant process lines using all available tools to ensure employee safety, stable equipment operation, equipment integrity within prescribe design limitations, operating targets, and environmental regulations
- Control product quality at all stages of the cement manufacturing process by having a clear understanding of the targets, and the levers that are used to control the targets, along with the appropriate decision-making process based on the impact of each lever
- Coordinate plant resources to troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain plant equipment as required, to meet production demands and prevent failures
- Maintain awareness of the automation system control strategy and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the plant organization in both verbal and written format.
- Maintain awareness of plant operating costs. Considers these costs regularly in the decision-making process.
- Performs any other duties assigned by superiors

01. Position: Procurement Specialist (x3)
Location: Ndola Plant; Chilanga Plant; Head Office
Reporting Line: Procurement Manager
Support and execute the operational, tactical and strategic procurement of goods and services. Support the implementation of procurement strategies in close cooperation with the procurement manager.
Responsibilities and Tasks
· Procurement of goods and services in line with approved purchasing requests in an efficient and timely manner.
· Manage the relations with vendors and internal customers in accordance with company guidelines to support the realization of agreed procurement contracts and achievement of successful employee engagement.
· Manage and keep clear documentation of transactions with third parties including solicitations, correspondence, quotations and proposals, evaluation reports, award letters, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, completion certificates and payables documents.
· Creativity and Innovation for problem solving and Cost Optimization while meeting the needs of the business.
· Vendor Performance Evaluation Management and provision of accurate information to line manager and other stakeholders.
· Prepare bid specifications in conjunction with the end user department, ensuring that scope of works, specification of required product is properly specified in as much detail as possible.
· Issue bid requests and review bid proposals and quotations and select vendors to procure goods/services meeting specific evaluation criteria.
· Negotiate agreements, purchase terms and conditions as specified in company procurement manual/policy ensuring maximization of business need and minimization of associated risks.
· Ensures that procurement policy and quality objectives are applied in every sourcing activity.
· Administers agreements.
· Regularly follows up on orders and shares daily, weekly, and monthly updates with users.
· Expedite any delays in works or delivery and facilitate closure of gaps to ensure on time and in full delivery of products and services.
· Ensures that all supply requirements are negotiated, documented and committed within established policies and delegation of authority in order to achieve a satisfactory audit rating.
· Keeps track of all measurable savings: cost reduction, cost avoidance and scope re-engineering.
· Conducts quarterly and annual vendor performance evaluations using a cross functional team and monitors vendors for excellence service delivery.
· Timely submission of payables documents. Liaise with accounts payable team to ensure timely payment of invoices to vendors.
· Performs any other tasks assigned by superiors.
Qualifications, experience and skills required
Academic Qualifications (please note that all Qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)
· Grade 12 with 5 ‘O’ levels
· Degree or Diploma in Purchasing and supply or related field.
· Good level of computer literacy in MS Office programs
· At least 2 years work experience in a similar or related role

Reporting Line: Finance Manager
Overall Mission of the Role:
To ensure payments are correctly processed and the booking of all Accounts Payable entries are correct in the accounting system. This will include resolution of queries with suppliers to ensure the business maintains good relations with suppliers and business cashflow is optimised.
Responsibilities:
- Generation and review of accounts payable vouchers
- Monitor supplier accounts for overdue payments and ensure that invoices are paid as they fall due
- Partner with end users and procurement to ensure advance account is timely matched and reconciled
- Proactively engage suppliers on all outstanding issues before escalation.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to suppliers’ payments and statements.
- Ensure proper accounting on all accounts payable related transactions.
- Ensure that accounts payable subledger and general ledger are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Carry out all accounts payable month-end closing related activities.
- Assist with the implementation of accounts payable best practices.
- Manage both internal and external audit requests relating to accounts payable
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

To ensure accurate processing of payments both in the accounting system and the banking platform as well as assigning correct cashflows to the payments made.
Responsibilities:
- Performance of a three-way payment match
- Generation of Payments notes for various suppliers
- Assignment of correct cashflows
- Processing of payments on the banking platform
- Prepare bank payments and reconcile them with the account’s payables ledger
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to suppliers’ payments and statements
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Ensure supplier invoices are accurately posted on time
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
