Construction of Autism Centre in Kabwe
Through its Corporate Social Responsibility, Chilanga Cement contributed cement for the construction of the Autism and Special Needs Centre in Kabwe, a centre that aims to transform the lives of children living with autism and special needs, championed by the First Lady, H.E. Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema.
Donation of 1,200 Bags of Cement to Kitwe Teaching Hospital, 1,500 bags to Ndola Teaching Hospital for the Road Construction Project
Chilanga Cement recognises the critical role that infrastructure plays in ensuring access to essential health services. The road construction projects for both Ndola and Kitwe teaching Hospitals enhance access to the hospital, benefiting both medical staff and the surrounding community.”
Contribution towards the fight against cholera in Chilanga district
19th January, 2024 - Chilanga Cement donated 500 litres of domestic chlorine and five 10,000-litre PVC tanks, to the Chilanga Town Council. This contribution aimed to support the local government in its efforts to combat cholera. As it is, health and safety are the company's core values; thus, the well-being of the Chilanga community and the nation as a whole is of paramount importance to everyone at Chilanga Cement.
Desk donations to community schools in Chilanga district
Chilanga Cement Plc made a donation of 100 desks to Sosco and Linda community schools in Chilanga District. The donation aimed at addressing the critical need for adequate learning infrastructure for schools in the Chilanga District. The desks, which were handed over to the two schools, represented a tangible contribution to creating a conducive learning environment for students.
Mobile clinic donation to Mother of Mercy Hospice
Chilanga Cement Plc donated a fully equipped Mobile Clinic and ZMW 30,000 to Mother of Mercy Hospice, a community-based health institution dedicated to providing palliative care services to the most vulnerable in our community.
Celebration of Zambia’s 60th Independence Anniversary with Tree Planting Initiative in Ndola
In partnership with CSR Network Zambia, Chilanga Cement launched a fruit tree planting project at Masala Secondary School in Ndola, under the theme Zambia @ 60: Plant a Tree. This event, marked the start of a nationwide environmental initiative, saw the donation and planting of 300 trees—60 each at Itawa Combined School, Dzikomo Primary School, Masala Secondary School, Ndeke Combined School, and Ndeke Caritas Secondary School.
