Chilanga Cement Signs MoU with Habitat
for Humanity to Address Housing Deficit
Chilanga Cement is pleased to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Habitat for Humanity aimed at addressing Zambia’s housing deficit, with a focus on vulnerable groups in Lusaka, Kabwe, and Ndola districts.
This initiative will be implemented through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed today, March 11, 2025, in Lusaka.
Under the MoU, Chilanga Cement commits to providing a 35% discount on approximately 6,000 bags of cement for Habitat for Humanity’s housing projects.
In a speech read on his behalf by General Counsel and Company Secretary, Mrs. Chibuye Mbesuma Ngulube, Chilanga Cement CEO Mr. Chai Jianping reaffirmed the company under Huaxin Group’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility. He emphasized that by choosing Chilanga Cement’s brands, customers are not only building their own homes but also contributing to the provision of decent shelter for those in need across the country.
“This partnership builds on over a decade of successful collaboration, including staff volunteering, cement donations, and housing support for vulnerable communities,” said Habitat for Humanity Interim Director, Ms. Ruth Mitimingi.
