HOSPITAL FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Ndola, Zambia – 11th September, 2024 –
Chilanga Cement PLC is proud to announce the donation of 1,200 bags of cement
towards the road construction project at Kitwe Teaching Hospital. This
initiative underscores the company’s commitment to supporting health
infrastructure development within Zambia. The donation follows a request from
Kitwe Teaching Hospital for assistance in building access roads that are
crucial for improving the hospital’s accessibility for patients, staff, and
visitors.
This
contribution aligns with Chilanga Cement’s broader Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) strategy, which focuses on investing in projects that
uplift communities and enhance public infrastructure, particularly in the
healthcare sector.
“We
are pleased to contribute to the road construction project at Kitwe Teaching
Hospital,” said Mr. Nason Kasoma, Ndola Deputy Plant Manager. “As responsible
corporate citizens, we recognize the critical role that infrastructure plays in
ensuring access to essential health services. This project will enhance access
to the hospital, benefiting both medical staff and the surrounding community.”
Dr.
Victor Sichone, Kitwe Teaching Hospital Head of Clinical Care, expressed
gratitude to Chilanga Cement, stating that the road construction project is a
significant initiative aimed at improving the hospital’s facilities. The new
roads will ensure smoother traffic flow and better access to medical services
for the local population.
Dr.
Sichone also highlighted that Kitwe Teaching Hospital is a key healthcare
provider in the Copperbelt Province, offering a wide range of medical services
to a large population.
Following
the successful completion of a similar project at Ndola Teaching Hospital,
Chilanga Cement is pleased to support this health infrastructure development in
key Copperbelt facilities. The company looks forward to the completion of the
project and the positive impact it will have on the beneficiaries.
