On Friday, 22^nd November 2024, Chilanga Cement PLC, a member of Huaxin Group, was honoured with a special recognition award at the 2024 Zambia Annual Quality Awards (ZAQA) Gala Dinner, hosted by the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry.

The theme of this year’s awards, “Standardisation and Business Resilience: Re-Thinking Competitiveness and Sustainability,” emphasised the vital role of quality assurance and innovation in driving sustainable economic growth.

Chilanga Cement was recognised for its longstanding commitment to the ZABS product certification scheme and achieved a historic milestone as the first company in Zambia to attain the ZABS product certification and maintain it since 1976. This achievement underscores the Chilanga Cement, a member of Huaxin’s dedication to setting benchmarks for quality standards, innovation, and leadership in Zambia’s construction sector.

The award was received by Mr. Zhao Jun, the Chilanga Plant Manager on behalf of the CEO of Chilanga Cement Plc, and Mr. Gift Danga, the Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager.

Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of Chilanga Cement, Mr. Gift Danga, the Chilanga Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager, expressed profound gratitude to ZABS and other stakeholders for the recognition.
