Lafarge Zambia Plc Shareholders vote to change the Company name to Chilanga Cement Plc
Following the change in the shareholding of Lafarge Zambia PLC wherein the majority shareholders of Lafarge Zambia Plc (Pan African Cement Co. Ltd and Financier Lafarge) sold their shares in the Company to Huaxin (Hainan) Investment Co. Ltd, an Extra-ordinary General Meeting held today the 9th of December 2021.
At the said meeting it was unanimously agreed and resolved that the Company’s name (Lafarge Zambia Plc) be changed to its former name (Chilanga Cement Plc) following the change in the shareholding control.
The public will be pleased to note that all products will remain unchanged. The reputable legacy and the quality of goods and services that has been built over 72 years of existence in Zambia will indeed continue and improve.
Huaxin Cement is a highly successful cement, aggregates, and concrete company that has been operational for over 110 years. As part of their activities, they carry environmental protection and engineering businesses, as well as technical services. The Company is pursuing an internationalization strategy and is largely interested in investing in the Zambia business and its people.
